“Timmins First in Canada to Prosecute on Charge of Selling Sliced Bread,” The Porcupine Advance (Timmins). June 4, 1942. Page 1, section 2. ---- Two Convictions are Registered Here Tuesday Under Section of Wartime Prices and Trade Board and Bring. Fines of Fifty Dollars and Costs. Both Bakery and Cafe Plead Guilty. ---- Magistrate S. Atkinson, presiding at the regular weekly police court in Timmins on Tuesday afternoon, registered the first convictions in Canada under the section of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board Order that deals with sliced bread. Two Timmins business-men, Albert Tomchick and Andrew Fillafer, paid fines of fifty dollars and costs for contravening the regulations of the order.
Mr. J. Emile Lacouriere, local attorney, was named special prosecutor by the Wartime Prices and Trade Board. but he didn't have to use any of his argumentative powers to obtain the convictions as the two men pleaded guilty before court opened and paid their fines. Mr. Lacouriere was informed by the board that the two charges were the first of their kind to be preferred in the Dominion of Canada.
The charge against Tomchick was that he as the owner and proprietor of Albert's Bakery, in the Town of Timmins, between November 1st 1941, and April 29th, 1942, inclusive, did, "sell bread in sliced loaves, and sliced bread for another person, contrary to and in violation of Section 1 (a) of Order No. 55 of the Wartime Prices and Trade Regulations made and established by Order in Council P. C. 8528. dated the 1st day of November, 1941."
The charge against Andrew Fillafer was that he did "aid and abet one Albert Timchick to sell bread in sliced loaves and to slice bread for another person, in violation of Order No. 55 of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board and did thereby contravene the War tions made and established by Order in Council P. C. 8528, dated the first day of November, 1942."
The charges were preferred by Fred Noon, Wartime Prices and Trade Board investigator for this district.
The two charges were read by the magistrate at the court when he read the convictions against the men. The reason for reading the charges, the magistrate said, was to inform the people that there were severe penalties imposed on those people who contravened the regulations of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board.
Harold Grist 9 Centre Avenue, Schumacher, is the first to pay a fine under the new speeding regulations. He was apprehended by Timmins police a couple of weeks ago and this week he pleaded guilty to the charge and paid a fine of fifteen dollars and costs. This is the minimum under the new regulations designed to cut down the large number of speeding charges. The magistrate has the power, under these new regulations, to cancel a driver's license. and can also mete out a jail sentence.
Donat Crispin, 64 Montgomery Avenue, remanded last week on a charge of negligent driving (four persons in the front seat), pleaded guilty this week and paid a fine of ten dollars and costs Police stopped him almost two weeks ago on Fourth Avenue.
Lucille Desrosier, 69 Third Avenue, was given another remand on a charge of careless driving. She was involved in an accident on Third Avenue more than a week ago while she was said to have made a left-hand turn into a driveway. Personal service of her summons was ordered on Tuesday when she failed to appear.
Earl S. Campbell had a charge of operating a car without the necessary driver's license withdrawn, while Bernard Daley paid a fine of a dollar and costs for driving a car with defective lights. Ten other motorists paid fines of a dollar and costs on charges of illegal parking, while one man was given the benefit of the doubt when the magistrate adjourned his case till called upon on the same charge.
A total of twenty-one persons faced charges of allowing their dogs to run at large this week. Of the twenty-one fifteen paid fines of a dollar and costs while three were withdrawn, two adjourned till called upon, and one adjourned till next week.

New Post has been published on Website Design Naples Florida Webmaster
New Post has been published on https://vinbo.com/wordpress-5-4-adderley/
WordPress 5.4 “Adderley”
Here it is! Named “Adderley” in honor of Nat Adderley, the latest and greatest version of WordPress is available for download or update in your dashboard.
Say hello to more and better.
More ways to make your pages come alive. With easier ways to get it all done and looking better than ever—and boosts in speed you can feel.
Welcome to WordPress 5.4
Every major release adds more to the block editor.
More ways to make posts and pages come alive with your best images. More ways to bring your visitors in, and keep them engaged, with the richness of embedded media from the web’s top services.
More ways to make your vision real, and put blocks in the perfect place—even if a particular kind of block is new to you. More efficient processes.
And more speed everywhere, so as you build sections or galleries, or just type in a line of prose, you can feel how much faster your work flows.
Two new blocks. And better blocks overall.
Two brand-new blocks: Social Icons and Buttons make adding interactive features fast and easy.
New ways with color: Gradients in the Buttons and Cover block, toolbar access to color options in Rich Text blocks, and for the first time, color options in the Group and Columns blocks.
Guess a whole lot less! Version 5.4 streamlines the whole process for placing and replacing multimedia in every block. Now it works the same way in almost every block!
And if you’ve ever thought your image in the Media+Text block should link to something else—perhaps a picture of a brochure should download that brochure as a document? Well, now it can.
Cleaner UI, clearer navigation—and easier tabbing!
Clearer block navigation with block breadcrumbs. And easier selection once you get there.
For when you need to navigate with the keyboard, better tabbing and focus. Plus, you can tab over to the sidebar of nearly any block.
Speed! 14% faster loading of the editor, 51% faster time-to-type!
Tips are gone. In their place, a Welcome Guide window you can bring up when you need it—and only when you need it—again and again.
Know at a glance whether you’re in a block’s Edit or Navigation mode. Or, if you have restricted vision, your screen reader will tell you which mode you’re in.
Of course, if you want to work with the very latest tools and features, install the Gutenberg plugin. You’ll get to be the first to use new and exciting features in the block editor before anyone else has seen them!
Your fundamental right: privacy
5.4 helps with a variety of privacy issues around the world. So when users and stakeholders ask about regulatory compliance, or how your team handles user data, the answers should be a lot easier to get right.
Take a look:
Now personal data exports include users session information and users location data from the community events widget. Plus, a table of contents!
See progress as you process export and erasure requests through the privacy tools.
Plus, little enhancements throughout give the privacy tools a little cleaner look. Your eyes will thank you!
Just for developers
Add custom fields to menu items—natively
Two new actions let you add custom fields to menu items—without a plugin and without writing custom walkers.
On the Menus admin screen, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields fires just before the move buttons of a nav menu item in the menu editor.
In the Customizer, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields_customize_template fires at the end of the menu-items form-fields template.
Check your code and see where these new actions can replace your custom code, and if you’re concerned about duplication, add a check for the WordPress version.
Blocks! Simpler styling, new APIs and embeds
Radically simpler block styling. Negative margins and default padding are gone! Now you can style blocks the way you need them. And, a refactor got rid of four redundant wrapper divs.
If you build plugins, now you can register collections of your blocks by namespace across categories—a great way to get more brand visibility.
Let users do more with two new APIs: block variations and gradients.
In embeds, now the block editor supports TikTok—and CollegeHumor is gone.
There’s lots more for developers to love in WordPress 5.4. To discover more and learn how to make these changes shine on your sites, themes, plugins and more, check the WordPress 5.4 Field Guide.

Ever wanted to know who the ruler of a certain Orlesian city is? Need connections for your Orlesian OC, but weren’t sure where to start? Look no further! Here I have attempted to compile a list of the named & notable Orlesians found in the Dragon Age games, primarily those that are alive during the events of the games & tie-in novels ( although a few historical figures are also included for reference. ) Note that it only includes individuals; families that are referred to by the family name, but with no individuals singled out, are not included, nor are unnamed NPCs. Characters that live in Orlais but would likely identify with heritage from elsewhere are not included ( i.e. Josephine would be considered Antivan rather than Orlesian. ) Lastly, some characters may fit under more than one subheading, but are only listed once ( i.e. Gaspard is both royalty and a chevalier, but is only under the former heading. )
Shoutout to Erran for the Fereldan and DAO NPC List, which served as inspiration to compile a similar reference for Orlais. Given the scarcity of Orlesian blogs in the rp fandom, this won’t serve as a masterlist of rpers, but I can make a second list if that interests anyone!
List will be periodically updated, as it’s by no means complete yet! If you notice a particular character is missing, feel free to reblog and mention the name(s) in a comment / the tags on a reblog, or send it in a message. Reference a source if possible ( game, war table mission, book, etc. ) And with that ...

Hello Guhuhu *______* I wanted to say that I already wrote a review on Steam for the game, but I wanted to tell you a bit more directly how much I adore Love & Country! I love how the game is a perfect mix of an amazing story, art and music, and how completely carried away I was while playing it. The illustrations and the setting in particular are quite different from other visual novels and it is very refreshing to see! Therefore, with all my heart, I wish you the best for Love & Country and for future releases, I cannot wait to see what else you'll create *______* I also have to ask something... I loved the characters in Love & Contry. I might have developed a crush on Émile, but that's purely your fault. So, my question, if you can/want to answer it, would be: is there a chance we will see them again? Maybe in a sequel? In any case, thank you so much for this gem of a game <3
Wow, thank you so much 😭😭😭 !!!!
We're so glad you like Émile, he is engineered in the Gu Labs to be crushed on.
As to your question....we are pretty sure you haven't seen the last of him 😉

A total of seventy-four cases were listed for disposition Tuesday and practically every one of them was handled during the afternoon. The court started at two o’clock and finished just before six.
Fifteen more dog owners faced charges this week and ten of them. were fined a dollar and costs for allowing their dogs to run at large. One man was the owner of four dogs and he had not purchased tags for them so he was fined four dollars and costs and told to obtain the tags in the near future. Four cases were adjourned.

Hay was also remanded for a week on a charge of careless driving while two motorists. Lucille Desrosier and Omer Finn, paid fines of ten dollars: and costs on the same charge. Miss Desrosier pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty and fined. When the magistrate fined her she dropper to the floor in a faint but was taken out of the room by one of the constables and revived.
A number of drunk charges were listed on the docket and most of them were disposed of. One man, Francis Patriquin, faced two charges, one of being drunk and the other of illegal possession of beer. He was remanded on both counts. Four men paid fines of ten dollars and costs on drunk charges while Exebe L'Heureaux paid fifty dollars and costs on a second offence drunk charge. Pearl Johnston failed to appear in court to answer a charge of second offence drunk so a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
Arthur Girard pleaded not guilty to supplying beer to an interdicted person but when he took the witness stand he admitted that he had purchased the beer for the girl and was convicted and fined twenty-five dollars and costs.
A girl of 19 or 20 pleaded guilty to consuming beer while being a minor and paid ten dollars and costs. She offered the excuse that she was married and thought that if she was old enough to get married she should be allowed to drink in a beverage room,
For having liquor in public place Jack Cochrane and Andrew P. Thomas each paid twenty-five dollars and costs. Police apprehended them near the golf course with a quart bottle partly filled with rubbing alcohol and water and a small bottle of rubbing alcohol.
For having wine in a public place Edward Journeau paid a fine of a hundred dollars and costs when he pleaded guilty, Police entered his home, which had been declared public by a court order a few months ago, and found a partly-filled bottle of wine that Journeau admitted he owned.
Two charges of vagrancy, laid by the provincial police were withdrawn Tuesday when they failed to produce any evidence. The girls were told that they could go.
An eighteen-year-old girl giving her address as 123 Main Avenue, was charged with vagrancy. She was picked up by the police wandering about the streets at an early morning hour and had no place to go and didn't have any money. She was told that her case was being remanded Tuesday so that the doctors could give her an examination. She will appear next week.
Emil Tanner faced a charge laid by Eino Tanner of failing to maintain his wife and family but was given his freedom Tuesday when the complainant failed to appear to press the charge. It was shown that Tanner was suffering from arthritis and was subject to diary spells that kept him from working
Henry Sasseville successfully defended a charge against him of assault causing actual bodily harm that was preferred by Jerry St. Onge. It was proved that 81. Onge had been under the influence of liquor when he entered Sanseville's cleaning and pressing establishment and indictations were that St. Onge had tried to fight with Sasseville. Both men were brothers-in-law.
A charge of assault on a female against Prospere Dubeau preferred by Mrs. Adeline Davey was withdrawn by the complainant with costs. Two charges of failing to support their wives and families against two men were both withdrawn.

WordPress 5.3 “Kirk”
Introducing our most refined user experience with the improved block editor in WordPress 5.3! Named “Kirk” in honour of jazz multi-instrumentalist Rahsaan Roland Kirk, the latest and greatest version of WordPress is available for download or update in your dashboard.
5.3 expands and refines the block editor with more intuitive interactions and improved accessibility. New features in the editor increase design freedoms, provide additional layout options and style variations to allow designers more control over the look of a site.
This release also introduces the Twenty Twenty theme giving the user more design flexibility and integration with the block editor. Creating beautiful web pages and advanced layouts has never been easier.
Block Editor Improvements
This enhancement-focused update introduces over 150 new features and usability improvements, including improved large image support for uploading non-optimized, high-resolution pictures taken from your smartphone or other high-quality cameras. Combined with larger default image sizes, pictures always look their best.
Accessibility improvements include the integration of block editor styles in the admin interface. These improved styles fix many accessibility issues: color contrast on form fields and buttons, consistency between editor and admin interfaces, new snackbar notices, standardizing to the default WordPress color scheme, and the introduction of Motion to make interacting with your blocks feel swift and natural.
For people who use a keyboard to navigate the dashboard, the block editor now has a Navigation mode. This lets you jump from block to block without tabbing through every part of the block controls.
Expanded Design Flexibility
WordPress 5.3 adds even more robust tools for creating amazing designs.
The new Group block lets you easily divide your page into colorful sections.
The Columns block now supports fixed column widths.
The new predefined layouts make it a cinch to arrange content into advanced designs.
Heading blocks now offer controls for text and background color.
Additional style options allow you to set your preferred style for any block that supports this feature.
Introducing Twenty Twenty
As the block editor celebrates its first birthday, we are proud that Twenty Twenty is designed with flexibility at its core. Show off your services or products with a combination of columns, groups, and media blocks. Set your content to wide or full alignment for dynamic and engaging layouts. Or let your thoughts be the star with a centered content column!
As befits a theme called Twenty Twenty, clarity and readability is also a big focus. The theme includes the typeface Inter, designed by Rasmus Andersson. Inter comes in a Variable Font version, a first for default themes, which keeps load times short by containing all weights and styles of Inter in just two font files.
Improvements for Everyone
Automatic Image Rotation
Your images will be correctly rotated upon upload according to the embedded orientation data. This feature was first proposed nine years ago and made possible through the perseverance of many dedicated contributors.
Improved Site Health Checks
The improvements introduced in 5.3 make it even easier to identify issues. Expanded recommendations highlight areas that may need troubleshooting on your site from the Health Check screen.
Admin Email Verification
You’ll now be periodically asked to confirm that your admin email address is up to date when you log in as an administrator. This reduces the chance of getting locked out of your site if you change your email address.
For Developers
Date/Time Component Fixes
Developers can now work with dates and timezones in a more reliable way. Date and time functionality has received a number of new API functions for unified timezone retrieval and PHP interoperability, as well as many bug fixes.
PHP 7.4 Compatibility
WordPress 5.3 aims to fully support PHP 7.4. This release contains multiple changes to remove deprecated functionality and ensure compatibility. WordPress continues to encourage all users to run the latest and greatest versions of PHP.
The Squad
This release was led by Matt Mullenweg, Francesca Marano, and David Baumwald. They were enthusiastically supported by a large release squad:
Editor Tech: Riad Benguella (@youknowriad)
Editor Design: Mark Uraine (@mapk)
Core Tech: Andrew Ozz (@azaozz)
Docs Coordinator: Justin Ahinon (@justinahinon)
Marketing/Release Comms: Mike Reid (@mikerbg)
Media/Uploader: Mike Schroder (@mikeschroder)
Accessibility: JB Audras (@audrasjb)
Default Theme Wrangler: Ian Belanger (@ianbelanger)
Default Theme Designer: Anders Norén (@anlino)
The squad was joined throughout the twelve week release cycle by 645 generous volunteer contributors (our largest group of contributors to date) who collectively fixed 658 bugs.

WordPress 5.1 “Betty”
A Little Better Every Day
Version 5.1 of WordPress, named “Betty” in honour of acclaimed jazz vocalist Betty Carter, is available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard.
Following WordPress 5.0 — a major release which introduced the new block editor — 5.1 focuses on polish, in particular by improving the overall performance of the editor. In addition, this release paves the way for a better, faster, and more secure WordPress with some essential tools for site administrators and developers.
Site Health
With security and speed in mind, this release introduces WordPress’s first Site Health features. WordPress will start showing notices to administrators of sites that run long-outdated versions of PHP, which is the programming language that powers WordPress.
When you install new plugins, WordPress’s Site Health features will check them against the version of PHP you’re running. If the plugin requires a version that won’t work with your site, WordPress will keep you from installing that plugin.
Editor Performance
Introduced in WordPress 5.0, the new block editor continues to improve. Most significantly, WordPress 5.1 includes solid performance improvements within the editor. The editor should feel a little quicker to start, and typing should feel smoother.
Expect more performance improvements in the next couple of releases.
Developer Happiness
Multisite Metadata
5.1 introduces a new database table to store metadata associated with sites and allows for the storage of arbitrary site data relevant in a multisite / network context.
Cron API
The Cron API has been updated with new functions to assist with returning data and includes new filters for modifying cron storage. Other changes in behavior affect cron spawning on servers running FastCGI and PHP-FPM versions 7.0.16 and above.
New JS Build Processes
WordPress 5.1 features a new JavaScript build option, following the large reorganisation of code that started in the 5.0 release.
Other Developer Goodness
Miscellaneous improvements include:
Updates to values for the WP_DEBUG_LOG constant
New test config file constant in the test suite, new plugin action hooks
Short-circuit filters for wp_unique_post_slug(), WP_User_Query, and count_users()
A new human_readable_duration function
Improved taxonomy metabox sanitization
Limited LIKE support for meta keys when using WP_Meta_Query
A new “doing it wrong” notice when registering REST API endpoints
…and more!

This release was led by Matt Mullenweg, along with Gary Pendergast as Senior Code Reshuffler and Poet. They received wonderful assistance from the following 561 contributors for this release, 231 of whom were making their first ever contribution!
